New to Medicare?

People who are new to Medicare often find it hard to understand at first. There are different parts and plans, and they can be confusing because they have similar names or letters.

Also, getting a lot of mail from Medicare doesn’t make things easier! Many new Medicare recipients come to us with piles of mail, asking us to help them figure out which papers are important and which ones they can throw away.

Transitioning from employer coverage to Medicare as your main insurance can feel overwhelming because it's new territory. But don't worry! It's a straightforward process when you have the right guidance, and we are happy to help at Intuitive Medicare.

Here’s what you need to know: When you sign up for Medicare, you’ll enroll in Original Medicare Parts A and B through the Social Security office. However, other parts of Medicare and additional coverage options are arranged separately through an insurance agent or agency.

If you're already receiving Social Security benefits, the government will automatically enroll you in both parts of Medicare. If not, you'll need to handle the enrollment process yourself.
